Paul graduated from Aston Business School in 1980 with a degree in Managerial and Administrative Studies. In 1985 he co-founded WSM Partners LLP, a firm which has gone on to become a top 100 UK accountancy practice and today serves international clients such as Citigroup, UBS and Deutsche Bank as well as many high net worth individuals.

Dr Bob Walter MP graduated from Aston in 1971 and is one of two Aston graduates currently sitting in the House of Commons. His rich and varied career has seen him play a prominent role in public life. In January 2011 he was appointed by Prime Minister David Cameron to head the United Kingdom delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Since graduating from Aston with a degree in Civil Engineering, and completing an MBA at Aston Business School, Nelson has made exceptional contributions to the International Construction and Engineering industries.

Christopher Banks is the founder of Big Thoughts, the award-winning food and drinks business. A former Managing Director at Coca-Cola, Chris is also former Chairman of the Learning and Skills Council and founder of the Independent College Partnership. He graduated from Aston in 1981 with an MBA.

Entrepreneur Jurek Piasecki graduated from Aston in 1967 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is the former Chairman and Chief Executive of the jewellery chain Goldsmiths Group and current owner and Managing Director of Nuval, an import and distribution company of unique, luxury watches and jewellery brands from around the world.

Roshan Thomas graduated from Aston with a degree in Optometry in 1978 before moving to Canada, where she today makes her home. Over the years, Roshan has dedicated her optometry training to serving marginalized populations in the developing world, through projects in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

We are delighted to welcome a most distinguished husband-and-wife duo to The A-List. Since meeting at Aston in the 1980s, Dr Susan Mahony and Dr John Bamforth have carved illustrious international careers, and both received Honorary Degrees from Aston University in the summer of 2012 in honour of their outstanding contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.

Aston alumna Kate Walsh is a television presenter and former licensing development manager who came to the public's attention in March 2009 while appearing as a candidate in the fifth series of The Apprentice. She co-hosted the Channel 5 evening entertainment show Live from Studio Five from its launch in September 2009.

Aston University graduate Nick Holzherr is a contestant on this year’s series of the popular BBC television programme The Apprentice. Nick is now the third Aston graduate to take part in The Apprentice and he follows in the footsteps of Aston graduates Kate Walsh and Alex Wotherspoon.
